Hi Marilyn, We are back home in Quebec and busy getting ready for the warm weather. We had a fantastic vacation at Villas Del Sol, the weather there was perfect for the three months we have passed there and everybody at Villas Del Sol made sure that we were like, or better, than at home. Elaine and Bruce treated us like family and we miss them both. We will recommend to friends and everybody to go and stay at Villas Del Sol ... The staff at Villas del Sol are simply the best--friendly, dedicated, efficient and so helpful. We explored more, saw more and understood much more thanks to their endless patience in answering our many questions about the area, language and culture......thank you Romy, Rosy and Alberto! Bruce and Elaine, all the best--thanks for your hospitality--you have a beautiful little spot there and we'd love to come back! We honestly can't think of a thing that would improve a visit to Villas del Sol, but one little suggestion might be helpful in keeping the villas stocked with wine glasses. The glass ones are a very nice touch and I (Ann) do like my wine in a stemmed glass, but acrylic might be more practical. With all the tile, glass top tables, etc. it was somewhat challenging to keep four glasses in tact for the month! Thanks again, Marilyn for all your help......we'll be in touch Ann and Earl

I have to say our visit at Villas del Sol was wonderful, although too short! We've been home for two weeks now and frequently talk about our trip. Everything was absolutely perfect. The service, security, staff, the heated pool, complimentary long distance to call home -- all of it was perfect. We do hope to return to Villas del Sol, if not next year, the following year. Very good of you to follow up on our vacation at Villas del Sol. John and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and only wish we were still there! Although we've been to Puerto Vallarta four times previously, we had never stayed anywhere outside the downtown Puerto Vallarta area until this last trip. Bucerias was exactly what we were looking for, and I doubt if we'd go anywhere else in Mexico now. Elaine was a very friendly and helpful host. When John's luggage was lost, she didn't hesitate to get on the phone and get some action from WestJet, which he really appreciated. She was generous with her invitations for pre-dinner appys -- and has a good handle on knowing when to be sociable, and when to just let guests do their own thing. The complimentary phone calls to Canada & the U.S. were also a nice touch. Elaine was very sweet to us, and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Villas del Sol itself is a charming place -- clean, bright and convenient. We felt we received excellent value for the money. Each of the staff was helpful and friendly and happy to oblige. We really liked the fact that it is a smaller-sized complex as it made for a friendly relaxed atmosphere, and gave us a chance to get to know several of the other guests. Also, having the swimming pool set at such a nice temperature was lovely. We visited friends up in Suyalita who were staying in a beautiful Casa...but they'd never been in their pool once, because they said it was freezing! We certainly hope to return to Villas del Sol next winter (for a longer stay) and thanks for letting us know about the loyalty discount. In this lousy economy, everything helps! Ken and I had a wonderful holiday at Villas del Sol. Elaine and the staff were awesome and we felt at home right away. The grounds and the rooms were beautiful as well. It truly was one of our best holidays. We went as a family reunion group so the setting there was perfect for us. We all agreed that we would recommend it to all of our friends. The use of the Satellite phone and the availability of Satellite TV (just to see how lousy the weather was in Canada) were a great bonus. The phone was very convenient for checking on kids at home and bragging about the great weather. Elaine is a very gracious hostess and we liked her right away. Romy was terrific and very helpful as well as Alberto who help us learn a bit of Spanish daily. Great personalities there!!! The apartments are a very safe, secure place to stay and we never worried about leaving our rooms for the day with the shutters open. The heated pool was a real bonus as we all know that that is not the norm in a lot of places in Mexico. We had use of the Villas' boogey boards for the beach and if we wanted, coolers to hold cold drinks. The staff helped us with directions, recommendations for restaurants and taxis, etc. Those bats are a crazy site to see! We now have a video of them. Bucerias is a quaint little town and Villas Del Sol was a great place to stay. We would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you again. You are bookmarked on my favourites.

After our week in Sayulita we were so relieved to get to Villas del Sol--the pristine, bright and beautifully clean premises were a welcome sight, and our studio suite was very pleasant, with a good bed, good air conditioning, some perks in the fridge, and everything we could wish for. Bruce and Elaine were excellent hosts, and Romy a delight, especially watching her negotiate some work on an air conditioner between Bruce and the repairman where there was somewhat of a difference in opinion! I enjoyed the pool, and we loved the little terrace and the wonderful view from the bonus terrace upstairs. The only negative there was we felt we were a little far away from the downtown area, for walking (for us), but certainly plenty close to the beach and the bus. When we were leaving, Bruce called for a taxi to the airport and negotiated the fare for us, which I think was only 150 pesos. My sister and her husband were staying at Rancho Banderas with friends, and we were able to go there, and Bruce and Elaine were kind enough to let us all swim when they visited us at Villas. That was really nice, and I was so pleased to get to visit several times with my sister -- from Milwaukee. They travel a lot and were impressed with Villas del Sol. Although we tired ourselves out walking around, it was still a fun vacation and I think we both feel refreshed by the experience and inspired now to continue on doing what we do, and hope spring gets here soon. Your info certainly was helpful, and sometime we may go back. Good to hear of the 10% (loyalty) discount. I have bookmarked your website for future reference. Yes, we are back home! We enjoyed our trip and our stay at Villas del Sol. Our unit was very nice. The cleaning staff, Romy and Rosie, did a fantastic job. Alberto, the gardener was great too. He was always helpful and took time to help us with our Spanish. They are all truly great. It was nice to turn on the TV to get news from back home. Loved to see the bats at dusk as well. Also, enjoyed the Friday gathering. Would we like to come back again.....of course! Gayle & Tony

We are back home -- the vacation (unfortunately) finally came to an end! We had such a great time at Villas del Sol and (probably like most people) we will definitely go back again. We loved everything about Bucerias and Villas del Sol. Bruce and Elaine were wonderful as were all the staff. They had a pot luck supper on Christmas Day (they supplied the turkey and guests brought a dish) and while we did not go, it seemed like the guests who did, really enjoyed it. We had already planned to have our Christmas dinner at "Karen's Place" on the beach. It was really good. The apartment itself was good, and if we were to go back, we would request the same one, Villa #6. It is a little far from "town", but we liked to walk the beach, so would often walk that way to get to town. Bruce and Elaine offer their phone at no charge (it is always left on the table outside for anyone to use) which is a nice touch. The welcome lunch is also nice, since it gave us a chance to eat and relax and check out everything before having to run off for groceries. Oh, and having the fridge stocked with beer a really good idea! In fact, we had everything we needed that first day we didn't even go for groceries till the next day. We just ran up the street for coffee and milk at the OXXO (convenience store). We enjoyed our vacation very much. There are so many great restaurants in Bucerias to choose from, we hardly made a dent in them. Of course we found ourselves going back to the same one two or three times if we liked it. We also walked the beach every morning in both directions. Bucerias is definitely the place for us. Thanks so much for all your help, the information you provided before our arrival was very helpful.

We had the most wonderful time at Villas del Sol with our kids and grandson. Villas del Sol was exactly what we needed. We met some wonderful guests and the staff were remarkable hosts and delightful company. Always engaging, curious and helpful. Our five year old grandson still cock-a-doodle-doos in the mornings to see who's up and to say "Beunos Dias". He still is amazed with the evening bat show and the iguana that lives next door in the drain pipe! :) It was fun with lots of great moments! Angie and I would like to come back for Christmas and would be interested in the studio or the same apartment but may not be able to confirm until later in the fall. We will be in touch. We totally enjoyed our vacation! Romy and Felipe were soooo friendly and helpful--made our trip so enjoyable--for sure! We met another couple from Vernon BC, staying for five weeks in the Studio Apartment and loved spending time with them every day! We had a wonderful time with our friends from Delta, BC and that was a great treat as we haven't seen them since their retirement five or six years ago! Romy was very helpful--calling restaurants for reservations, arranging for massages to the villa, providing beer, etc. We enjoyed the bat show every evening around 7:00 PM as well! We bussed to La Cruz, San Pancho, Puerto Vallarta and the guys golfed one day at Flamingo Golf Course! We packed a lot of activities into the short week we had there, but we totally enjoyed every minute of each day! We arrived home not so well rested as I wanted to see and do as much as possible! We have already told friends and people at work about our trip and they are looking into your place for future vacations!! Thank you sooo much for all the information you provided before our arrival in Puerto Vallarta. It was very helpful and we were very confident on our arrival as to where we had to catch a cab, destination, etc. especially as we arrived in the middle of the night! I am enjoying my visit to Bucerias very much and wanted to say "thank you" for all your help in making the reservation at Villas del Sol. My studio unit is very comfortable and the entire complex is very quiet and an easy walk to the bus on the highway. My flight was three hours late arriving in Puerto Vallarta! Fortunately Mexicana Airlines called Villas del Sol so Filipe was awake when the taxi driver called him for directions to the Villas! He thought the complex was located at the OTHER end of Francisco Madero--but we found it okay. Romy is wonderful--she even put out clean towels for everyone on Christmas Day. She is very conscientious and everyone loves her! I asked for her help today in getting a taxi to the airport on New Year's Day and she was very helpful. Your handouts were VERY helpful! I have truly enjoyed my visit--but the time has gone by quickly! The weather was not as warm and sunny as I experienced in years past but today and tomorrow are better so I'm definitely going to spend the daylight hours soaking up the sun! We are in the middle of a blizzard so I am longing for Villas del Sol right now. The accommodation was great and we had an excellent vacation. We really enjoyed to open air concept and being across from each other meant Ben had lots of space. The staff there was just great...Romy, Ben and Rosie. We just returned last evening from Villas del Sol. We all had a fantastic time! John Ed is a dear man and I felt as though I was a private guest in his home. Our holiday at Villas del Sol was perfect--we liked Bucerias far more than Puerto Vallarta. We walked into the plaza most every night to eat coconut ice cream and watch the children play. The bus adventures to Punta de Mita to see the whales and to Sayulita for body surfing are embedded in our memories forever. We released turtles one night down on the beach with the local turtle patrol volunteers and our son did an all-day diving trip with Chico's Dive Shop out of Puerto Vallarta. He thought it was terrific! We rented a car one day just to see more and drove to San Blas and toured the national park with the crocodiles. We also drove to Las Palmas--that is a tidy spot. We would have liked to get into the mountains more, but that will have to wait for another day. John Ed was charming as well as helpful and we love Romy and Beverly! Yes, they tidied up each day but it was their cheerfulness and creativity that we will remember. Thanks again for everything. The Leytham's

It is hard to adjust to the cold weather again as we loved the sunny days and blues skies in Mexico. Our trip was lovely and John Ed was a great host. Almost everyday we used the beach chairs and umbrellas he provided. The Bucerias Beach was quiet and lovely and I could have sat there all day--much nicer than the busy Puerto Vallarta beaches. As well, we enjoyed our bus trips to downtown Puerto Vallarta and to Sayulita and we loved the Sunday market and old Bucerias. Your notes and the Guest Handbook (in the Villa) were very, very helpful. Thanks for your all your advice, information, and suggestions!

The villas are beautifully maintained and an easy location for the beach and restaurants. We will refer friends and know our children will return on their own. We were so fortunate to find such a secret hideaway. We miss Romy's smile and John Ed's humor, the sunshine and blue skies.
